Should now be called a “drone spotting display”. Our local fireworks show ended rather abruptly without any kind of finale. I’m going to assume it was stopped because one of the four drones was flying in the middle of the display.

Idiots ruin everything. I hate people. Happy 4th.

Someone was flying a drone in the show I was at, but they didn't stop. It seemed really close to the fireworks and I'm surprised it didn't get knocked out.

I mean, a firework is volumetrically about 99.9% nothing. Statistically speaking the odds of it getting hit are pretty low.

The actual glowing embers yes, but the shock wave coming off of one is no joke. A few years ago I was in a small passenger airplane trying to land right at 9 PM on the 4th of July when one went off outside the plane and shook the whole thing. Pilot immediately went nose up to climb above them and basically loitered up there until the shows were over. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life. Followed immediately by one of the coolest watching hundreds of local fireworks displays down below from around 10,000 feet.

Yep, I would say that there isn’t much to those quads, so they could probably take the shocks. I wouldn’t have minded if it had gone down, or the cops had followed it home. They were clearly flying beyond line-of-site and after sunset.
